Control TikTok Pixel with the same consent layer as the rest of your stack
TikTok Pixel can improve attribution and campaign optimisation — but it should not set advertising cookies before the visitor’s choice. Cookie Craft controls the loading moment directly and consistently.

What TikTok Pixel is, and why consent comes first
The TikTok Pixel is the browser-side code that sends events about on-site actions to TikTok. The data feeds campaign measurement, optimisation and audiences. TikTok states that, where consent is legally required, the website must disable cookie use and Pixel firing when the visitor refuses. Cookie Craft turns that requirement into repeatable technical behaviour.
What Cookie Craft does
The Pixel ID goes into the admin — no GTM template or theme edit required.
No automatic load
On a first visit without advertising consent, the TikTok Pixel does not start just because the page opened.
Starts after acceptance
The code is inserted after the state changes and can receive the permitted events.
Early on return visits
If a valid consent already exists, the Pixel is loaded in the <head> so measurement isn’t delayed.
Direct or through GTM
For setups with a complex dataLayer and many events, the official TikTok tag can be managed in GTM instead — but the direct Cookie Craft integration must not be active at the same time, or events duplicate. Verify the Pixel ID in Events Manager after publishing. Automatic Advanced Matching should not be enabled without an explicit review of the data collected; in sensitive sectors, prefer manual control and data minimisation.
When a visitor withdraws consent, Cookie Craft stops new Pixel loads and events; a Pixel already loaded on the current page stops receiving new events, and the change takes full effect on the next page load.
Events that fit
| Site type | Useful TikTok events | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Lead generation | ViewContent, Contact, Lead / SubmitForm | Prefer the current standard shown in Events Manager; the event fires after real success. |
| E-commerce | ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout, Purchase / CompletePayment | Send value, currency, content_ids and quantity where relevant. |
| Registration / subscribe | CompleteRegistration, Subscribe | Avoid custom events when a standard event already describes the action. |
TikTok’s event names change over time — for new pixels, use the current standard names shown in Events Manager.
The same advertising choice can control Google, Meta and TikTok.
Direct Pixel ID setup, without custom loader code — GTM available for advanced events.
