Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies we use on this site, for what purpose and how you can change your choices at any time.
Last updated: 31 July 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, which of them we use on this site and how you can control your choices. The document complements the Privacy Policy.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file, stored by your browser on your device when you access a site. On later visits, the site can read this file and recognise the device.
Cookies contain no executable programs, cannot run code and cannot access the files on your device. They usually store an identifier made up of letters and digits.
Alongside cookies there are technologies with a similar effect — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels. This policy applies to them equally.
2. Legal basis
Storing information on your device and accessing information already stored are governed by Art. 4(5) of Law no. 506/2004 on the processing of personal data in the electronic-communications sector.
Under this rule, these operations are permitted only with your prior consent, with a single exception: cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the service you have expressly requested. For these we do not ask for your consent, since without them the site cannot function.
The processing of personal data contained in cookies is additionally based on the legal bases described in the Privacy Policy.
3. How consent works on this site
On your first visit we show you a banner with options. Until you choose, no non-essential category is activated.
Our setup treats the two types of tools differently, and the difference is worth explaining:
3.1. Analytics tools — they load, but restricted
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 load from the start, but with all consent signals set to denied, under the Consent Mode v2 mechanism. In the denied state, no analytics cookie is stored for the refused purposes and no persistent analytics identifier is set; depending on the tag configuration, limited signals without a persistent identifier may still be sent to Google for aggregated, modelled estimates.
This data is not used to build a profile or to recognise your device across visits.
If you accept the statistics category, the signals switch to granted and analytics cookies are actually stored.
3.2. Marketing tools — they do not load at all
The Meta pixel and the TikTok pixel are treated more strictly: the scripts do not load without explicit acceptance. Until then, no connection is made with these platforms’ servers, so not even the IP address is sent.
4. Cookie categories
4.1. Strictly necessary
They ensure the site works: remembering your cookie choice, maintaining the admin session, protecting forms against automated submissions. They cannot be disabled and do not require consent.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
cookie_consent_v2_state | this site | Stores the visitor’s consent preferences; remains valid for 730 days unless the visitor changes or withdraws the choice earlier | 730 days |
wordpress_logged_in_* | this site | Keeps you signed in to the admin panel | session or 14 days |
wp-settings-* | this site | Remembers display preferences in the admin panel | 1 year |
4.2. Statistics and analytics
They help us understand how the site is used, in aggregate form. They are stored only with your consent for this category.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes users by assigning a random identifier | 2 years | |
_ga_<ID> | Maintains session state for the respective Analytics property | 2 years | |
_gid | Distinguishes users in the short term | 24 hours |
4.3. Marketing and advertising
They allow campaign effectiveness to be measured and relevant ads to be shown on other platforms. The scripts do not load without your explicit acceptance.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Measures conversions from ads | 90 days |
_fbp | Meta | Identifies the browser for ad targeting | 90 days |
_fbc | Meta | Remembers the ad you arrived from | 90 days |
_ttp | TikTok | Measures campaigns and targets ads | 13 months |
IDE, test_cookie | Google (doubleclick.net) | Ad display across the Google network and remarketing | up to 13 months |
Note: names and durations are set by the respective providers and may change without prior notice to us. The list reflects the situation as at the date of the last update.
5. Third-party cookies
Cookies in the statistics and marketing categories are placed by external providers, who also use them for their own purposes. Their privacy policies:
- Google Ireland Limited — policies.google.com/privacy; ad options at adssettings.google.com;
- Meta Platforms Ireland Limited — facebook.com/privacy/policy;
- TikTok Technology Limited — tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea.
These providers may transfer data outside the European Economic Area. The safeguards applied to these transfers are described in section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
6. How to change your choices
6.1. From the site banner
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, using the cookie-settings option available permanently on the site. Withdrawal takes effect immediately on future processing: no new marketing scripts load, and analytics returns to the denied state without storage. The change applies from that point on — a script already loaded on the current page is not retroactively removed, and the withdrawal takes full effect on your next page load.
Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out earlier, on the basis of the consent valid at that time.
6.2. From your browser
You can block or delete cookies directly from your browser settings:
- Google Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data;
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data;
- Safari — Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data;
- Microsoft Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies;
- Opera — Settings → Advanced → Privacy & security → Cookies.
Most browsers also offer a private-browsing mode, in which cookies are deleted when the window is closed.
Note that deleting cookies from your browser also removes the cookie that remembers your consent choice — on your next visit the banner will be shown to you again.
6.3. Additional mechanisms
For interest-based advertising you can also use the industry’s collective tools:
- youronlinechoices.com/ro — for participating European providers;
- optout.aboutads.info — for participating US providers.
7. What happens if you refuse
Refusing the non-essential categories does not restrict your access to the site. All pages remain available, the forms work, and the information is fully accessible.
The consequences of refusal are entirely on our side: we will have less accurate statistics, based on estimates rather than measurements, and we will not be able to assess the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
We do not condition access to content on accepting cookies and we do not use “accept or pay” mechanisms.
8. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when we add or remove tools, when providers change the names or durations of cookies, or when legislation requires additions. The version in force is the one on this page, with the date indicated at the top.
When a new category of non-essential cookies is introduced, we will ask you for fresh consent.
